Document reveals overwhelming evidence FBI plotted to “neutralize” Earth First! — seeks denial of immunity claims and setting of trial date

This announces the re-filing on March 18, 1997, of a brief for Judi Bari and Darryl Cherney, in their civil rights lawsuit against the FBI and Oakland Police, seeking final denial of all immunity claims by the defendant agents and officers, and seeking a trial date. Submitted as an emergency plea, in draft form, just before Judi died on March 2, it is now complete with photos and exhibits, as a (mostly) finished statement of the case.
What can be found in it is overwhelming evidence that the FBI engaged in a plot to "neutralize" Earth First! by fomenting the arrest of Judi and Darryl, after they were bombed, by willing co-conspirators in the Oakland Police Department. Both groups lied about the evidence in order to smear Judi and Darryl in the headlines, then lied again and again to keep the sensational case going, when it was clear there was no evidence to connect the two to the bombing in any way. And they're lying now to cover-up the lies they told in 1990 & 1991.
Several FBI lies involved or were based on hanky-panky in its famous crime lab, and they implicate David R. Williams, one of the senior lab experts removed from duty in the current (if overshadowed) whistleblower scandal. The broad pattern of mishandling, suppression and sworn misrepresentation of the evidence shown here shows clearly that the Justice Department Inspector General's pending report about malfeasance at the lab is on the right track.
Indeed, the major lying and political foul play by the FBI which occurred in this case qualify it as a major scandal in its own right -- especially when we remember that, in deciding to use the bombing as an excuse to go after Judi and Earth First!, the FBI was also deciding to let the real bombers get off scot-free. And they have; the people who tried to assassinate Judi Bari are still at large, and no effort has been made to catch them. The FBI's machinations in this case make the use and abuse of Richard Jewell look like innocent muddling by comparison; a Special Prosecutor should be appointed to look into the lying and falsifying that has occurred, and is still going on.
Why did they do it? Isn't it pretty weird, even for the FBI, to simply look the other way in a case of attempted murder? What other gruesome and frightening secrets are at the bottom of the cesspool now being plumbed by Senator Grassley and his colleagues responsible for legislative "oversight" of these anti-constitutional lunatics? And how come, 20 years and more after the Senate's Church Subcommittee pulled the cover off "counter-intelligence", the Free Press still lets the FBI get away with it?
No date has been set for a hearing. We will notify you when one is set.
